Welcome to
Sew Sew Lounge
A place for busy creative women to rediscover their sewing confidence, personal style, and joy.
A Note to You
You’re getting back into sewing and it feels harder than it used to.
Maybe you spend more time seam ripping than stitching.
Maybe every time you try something challenging, you end up frustrated and wonder if you’ve lost it.
Maybe you’re scared of using your “good fabric” because what if you ruin it?
Or you finally get into the groove, only to get interrupted by life — and days or weeks go by.
If that sounds familiar, you’re in the right place.
Sewing isn’t just a hobby.
It’s how we reconnect with the creative woman we used to be.
I'M TONI
Â
I didn’t grow up sewing perfectly. I learned the hard way.
When I was studying Textile & Apparel Design, I was learning to sew while learning to draft patterns. I didn’t true up the pattern the pieces so they fit together. If a side seam didn’t match, I trimmed the fashion fabric at the bottom to even out the hem.
It was a disaster — and I am still thrilled when my seam ends match up.
I don’t hide my mistakes because sewing isn’t a performance.
It’s a process.
And you deserve to see every real part of it.
The Night I Realized Sewing Was Who I Am
Â
Years later, I became a civil litigation attorney.
One night, while designing costumes for a theater production, I looked up and it was 2 a.m.
I wasn’t tired. I wasn’t resentful.
I was immersed — draping, stitching, troubleshooting.
That’s when I knew:
Sewing is the only thing I would stay up all night to do.
Not work. Not law. Sewing.
I still practice law. I’m in court every morning.
But most days, I’m thinking about when I can go home and work on my latest project.
